The long name lists show how often a spelling appears in the Philippine civil registry as of May 2021. They are not the list of babies born in 2024. Surname ranks come from Forebears and are not birth counts either. Neither number says a name is a better choice.

Yes. Many families live or work abroad and still register a Filipino-style full name. You can prefer names that are easy to spell in English, then still keep the maiden surname as the middle name.
