About comparing first names
What does this comparison judge?
Each first name is judged with both family surnames on a sound-fit basis: how the full three-part name sounds, school nicknames, adult use, and origin honesty. The site phonetic score is shown beside the model so you can see if they disagree. Neither is a cultural verdict.
Is this a substitute for family advice?
No. It is a structured second opinion. Confirm spelling, saints' names, and civil-registry rules with your family and the local civil registrar if needed.
How many first names can I compare?
Between two and ten given names, comma-separated. We attach the same maiden surname and father's surname to every candidate.
Does compare send our surnames to an AI provider?
Yes, when you submit the form: both family surnames, the first names you listed, and any optional notes. Re-opening the same comparison uses the saved result. See the privacy policy. Homepage search and scored lists do not.
